They've got good tunes and Sony wants to make money off that. These days you can't make money just by selling an album, you have to pimp the works. And honestly, they've never really tried to hide that the fact that they make fun and accessible music, Jaimie. Take it up with the bogans, eh?Davehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15892525673986963286noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8730383352333289998.post-91440957669735383742009-01-06T23:52:00.000+11:002009-01-06T23:52:00.000+11:00Gosh we have good taste round these woods. Anyway, I understand where you're coming from, because their draw is very simple, and simply fluff. I heard so many complaints about '08 as a poor year for music, but there were a lot of bands that had albums more comprehensively solid than MGMT (like The Dodos) that didn't make any lists. But MGMT had contagious beats, and that's what stuck.

That being said, if I see one more MGMT quote as a Facebook status this week, I'm going to start deleting "friends" for merely trying to be cool by getting their music taste from end-of-the-year "best" lists.mollyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01643868246582507038noreply@blogger.com
